I am certainly not arguing that Python 2 support should be dropped
overnight. :) 

But when that happens, it might not be very pleasant to see dozen of
last minute bug reports related to that...

Likewise, it is also good to hear from other users: most HPC systems
have pretty lax policies regarding user-installed software and Anaconda
makes such an installation trivial.

Hearing from the ones stuck in a more restricted environment would also
be very beneficial: in such environments, things could move very slowly
and enquiring about Python 3 support 3 years before Python 2 EOL seems
like a good timeframe to me and an invaluable piece of information for
the project.
