[ase-users] Unable to plot in ase ( WebAgg related errors )

I am using Intel Python 3.6 and installed ase via a simple "pip  
install ase". When I try and plot graphs I get the following error  
snippet:

... many errors relating to launching WebAgg ...
ValueError: I/O operation on closed file
This tool has been deprecated, use 'gio open' instead

Then a firefox browser opens and tries to open a page on  
127.0.0.1:8898 , but nothing connects..

My theory is some firewall is blocking the port that WebAgg is trying  
to use. If so, is there a workaround?
