[ase-users] Export to CAD files?

Hi,

TLDR: Can we export an ASE object to some sort of CAD file for import into
a CAD program?

Looking through the gallery (
https://wiki.fysik.dtu.dk/ase/dev/gallery/gallery.html) today, I noticed
that the first example (Dissociation of oxygen on Pt(100)) looks quite
appealing, and started digging to work out what it is that generates it.
POV-RAY, which is used to generate it (but isn't mentioned in the docs as a
necessary dependency), is rather old, and I needed to fiddle with it a bit
to get it to work on the example.

Are there any alternatives to POV-RAY in order to export a file for
CAD-software input? I had a quick look, but it doesn't look like the .pov
format supportedby POV-RAY is supported by other softwares.

Best,
Thomas
